(no subject)

So I forgot to post these the other day, but I just remembered now thanks to discussing the fact that in the event of demon uprising/zombies, me and GG are fucked, respectively.

Anyway for those of you who don't know, I live in Maine. Maine is also the alleged (alleged in they all BUT say it) location of Silent Hill.

Granted that SH is made by Japanese dudes who have likely never been to Maine, but they still manage to get the feeling of the architecture and geographical look down. As I will demonstrate with these pictures I took on a very foggy commute to work! :D Sometime I'll get better shots around town when it's foggy.

an apartment complex. Fairly mundane.

some church. on a hill.

this is the entrance to the old part of the hospital my stepmom works at. I'd get a picture of the Brookhaven Hospital to compare and contrast but I can't actually FIND one. But um, yeah. IT LOOKS VERY SIMILAR. :)

going down the hill past the hospital.

railroad tracks!

creepy abandoned (haunted) water mill

street going up to the insane asylum, if I remember correctly.

street sign. Spot the shoop, win a prize 8D

*is a loser.*

THese are so eerily beautiful, I really would love to visit Maine.

As much as I complain about it sometimes, Maine is really a gorgeous place. I know my brother's got his camera going like crazy whenever he comes up.

People from away are always like, 'Oh, wow, you live in Maine? It's so pretty!' or 'This is what you've been complaining about all this time? It's gorgeous!'

My response is always: '...Okay, you say that now. Try living here.'

I mean, as far as places to live go, it could have been a lot worse; it was a great place to grow up. But it's a little quiet, you know? (Hopefully not Silent Hill quiet, though. D: )

Quiet and the electricity is unreliable during the most random weather changes. When you are petrified of the dark due to an irrational fear of being buried alive, growing up with the power going out when you're trying to sleep was not the best for my smaller self. :[
